ProFTPD doesn't restart properly (Debian Wheezy, Ubuntu Precise, Trusty...)

  • My system is ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS.
    Proftpd version is 1.3.5~rc3.
    i-MSCP is 1.2.9
I have installed five i-MSCP server. But it's have four i-MSCP the proftpd service auto stop.I don't know what is this reason.
Could have any friend happen?Where has about proftpd stop log?

  • I think you should take a look at the proftpd.log inside proftpd. That file is located in /var/log/ .
And the syslog inside /var/log/ might help too.

    Have a nice day. :)

I imposable to stop this service in this time. Why this time proftpd auto shutdown?

  • There are multiple reasons for that. I read somewhere else that logrotate somehow killed the proftpd.
Did you checked the other log files too? Since when does that happen? Did you changed something since that time?

    Have a nice day. :)

I've already see that bug on Ubuntu too. Should we provide our own proftpd init script to integrate the retry fix?
