LetsEncrypt plugin 3.4 issuing staging certificates only

  • I have updated the plugin from 3.3 to 3.4. It's now only issuing certificates signed by the staging server "Fake LE Intermediate X1"

I have found the "certbot_create_options" and "certbot_revoke_options" sections in the config.php and they now default to "--staging". Removing these lines doesn't seem to change anything.

Please advise what to do :/

  • i see the similar issue.

    I use L§ plugin 3.4 with i-mscp 1.5.3 on Ubuntu 14.04.05 LTS

    I get a Fake LE intermediate X1

    this is from the logfile:

any ideas what to change ?

    Best wishes

    Niels

  • Good morning,

I forgot do disable the staging environment. You need to remove the --staging option from both the certbot_create_options and certbot_revoke_options plugin configuration parameters in the /var/www/imscp/gui/plugin/LetsEncrypt/config.php plugin configuration file. Once done, you need to trigger a plugin list update through the plugin management interface, else your changes won't take effect. Then renew the fake SSL certificates manually. If you follow these step, that will work as expected:

As you can see above, the plugin switched from staging to production environment. Result:

I'll release a new version today. I'm sorry.

  • Hello,

    I tried both commands.

Then restarted apache and I still see "This Connection is not Private"

How I can help you ? What kind of information you need ?

    i-MSCP-1.5.3, Letsencrypt 3.4, Debian - 8.10,

The site I am testing i just one index.html file.

  • Just do what I've said in my previous answer. There is no command to run. To summarize:

    1. Edit the plugin configuration file and remove the --staging option as explained in my previous answer
    2. Connect as administrator to the control panel and trigger a plugin list update through the plugin management interface
    3. Connect as customer and force renewal of the fake SSL certificate(s)
    4. Once the renewal has been done, close your browser and retry
