Deviated subject from Authenticator thread (why Debian will not include PHP 7.1 in Debian Stretch)

    No, they won't do that. Only Ubuntu team is able to do that because their policy for proposed updates is more relaxed. Generally speaking, Debian team only accept proposed updates for volatile data (think of ClamAV signature database and so on...), or when there is a real gain.

  • well at least it makes a bit of sense why some packages in debian seem a bit old, a while ago iirc apache couldnt even do http2 in debian (maybe that's still the case, dunno), even though I dont like that.

  • As far as I known, HTTP2 is supported by Apache as provided in testing repository. Hence, HTTP2 will be supported by Debian Stretch.
