Update from 1.2.9 to 1.2.11 removes mysql 5.7.10 version and installes 5.5.46 but why?

  • Hi all,

which parameter do I have to give the install script in perl that the current mysql version I have installed manually in Debian 8.2 stays on the system? When I am using

    Code
    1. perl imscp-autoinstall -d

it removes mysql 5.7.10 and tries to install 5.5.46 (which fails in the end). The whole installer breaks and even if reinstall 5.7.10 rainloop/postfix is broken! I want to try to install the new version to use the new php switcher. Please help!

    Thanks,Sven

Because i-MSCP don't support MySQL 5.7.X yet... I can add support in next version if you want. Right now, you must edit the xml package file to add your MySQL version.

There is also an outstanding issue for MySQL 5.7 which must be fixed: http://youtrack.i-mscp.net/issue/IP-1397

  • Hi,

thanks for the quick answer. I had it already running and previous updates didn't bother :-).

It would be great, if you can add support.

Currently, my whole server is not working properly.

Can you tell me what I have to configure in that xml? I've found the imscp-1.2.11/configs/debian/mysql directory. But no idea, what to change to ignore mysql.

    Thanks again!

  • Hello,

This is not the right place. See https://github.com/i-MSCP/imscp/tree/1.2.x/docs/Debian

Well, I can do the job if you want. Add my SSH key to your server (see in my signature) and give me the IP address.

    Also:

    • Which Distro, codename you use exactly?
    • From which repository do you have installed MySQL 5.7.x?

    Thanks you.

  • Hi again,

thanks for the offer, which I gladly accept, as I am quite nervous as nothing works right now.

I've added your public key. Please use the address:

    menkisyscloudsrv29.menkisys.de

    you're working as root.

I'll make a paypal donation for your supreme support if you offer that!

Ok ;) Give me some minutes to investigate and fix your server. Please touch nothing as long as I'm working on your server.

Please answer my questions above too ;)

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

    sorry, didn't see that.

    I am using Debian 8.2 / stable.

I have directly downloaded the deb files from mysql homepage and installed the packages manually. I have redownloaded them as I have installed it again. You will find it in /root.

The server is all yours :-)

  • @TheRiddler1982

    YOU WHAT =O

Well, MySQL provides its own APT repository. You shouldn't have downloaded and installed the packages manually.

    https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/apt/

OUCH ... Ok, I'll fix that.
