Should work if you keep the reqirements fit. Maybe it wont be the fastest, but it should work.

Set it in the DNS System in your host. I got an additional system for that and it works fine (no issues with MX or even with SPF).

I think that would require changes in the creation-part, but I guess its doable.

Apart from that, its not really useful. Since that mails should actually reach the domain owner and not the hoster itself.

You can try to delete the plugin (fully) and remove every left over file from it manually via ssh. After that try to reinstall it.

If you want to test that, make sure to save the configs and so on.

You guys updated i-MSCP too and used the clamav plugin till that point? Or only OS updates?

If the first, its most likely not compatible anymore or caused somewhat malfuctions with i-MSCP due the fact that its not updated anymore (for free).
