  • Do I need telnet?

    Personally I like the opinion of nuxwin - every admin should know which services should run and which should not.


    But - then we may also write all services in the same color, just the last column should state "up" or "down" (Port open/closed etc).


    If we consider marking a line red or green then we should let the admin decide which service should run and which not and depending on this the gui uses the color... so we should add a "should-state" in the port list/services list....


    What do you guys think?

  • Glückwunsch an das neue Projekt

    Im deutschen Forum darf immernoch deutsch geschreiben werden....
    Vielen Dank Tango - es ist sicher lieb gemeint, manchmal spielen andere Faktoren eine grössere Rolle. Ich persönlich bin der Meinung, dass man entweder diejenigen entscheiden lässt, die es supporten müssen (damit die sich wenigstens gut damit auskennen) oder - was eher im Fall eines bezahlten Supports geht - dass wir gemeinsam eine Software aussuchen und sich halt die Supporter damit rumschlagen müssen.


    Ich muss aber sagen, ich kenne mich nicht so gut in Forensoftware bzw. den verschiedenen die es gibt aus, mir reicht das hier auch und wenn ich weiss, dass ich das auch kostenlos runterladen und kennenlernen kann, dann gibt mir dass auch ein gewisses Gefühl, ok, ich *könnte* das zur Not auch supporten...

    yes - I'm following the copy discussion.
    I wrote something in another (german) thread here (the discussion with tomidooli...) - of course it's not ok, but I thin with the time:
    - the code will differe more and more
    - people will learn where the code comes from - and this will give i-MSCP the "glory" :-)



    It's not worth loosing time with this. Better we try to create the V2 asap...

    Hm - how do you open your house when you have lost all the keys and the manufacturer has been gone bankrupt...


    You have to replace all lockers etc... this means: you will have to rewrite/recreate all passwords which are stored in ispcp (they are crypted and the keys above are needed to uncrypt the passwords).


    So better make a backup of theese two files (two of them are are the same...) - or at least one - then a recreation should be possible....

    du quälst deinen Server schon mit der *** 1.0.7...

    scheint - wenn man da so liest - nicht unbedingt sehr stabil zu sein. Könnte allerdings auch nur ubuntu betreffen (viel Aufwand, 2 releases pro Jahr), und andererseits hat es schon fast Tradition, dass die offiziellen Releases nicht wirklich stabil sind....


    aber das nur nebenbei....


    Solange *** die Daten-Struktur nicht ändert sollte ein Umzug nach i-MSCP möglich sein. Ich hoffe auch auf ein baldiges Ãœbergangsrelease, welches eingesetzt werden kann....
