Free SSL certificates through Let's Encrypt

  • I found an interesting site on the Web, which promises free certificates for website (mid-year). The device should also be easy.

    Would this work possibly with imscp?

    --> say:

    When Let’s Encrypt launches in mid-2015, enabling HTTPS for your site will be as easy as installing a small piece of certificate management software on the server:

    1. $ sudo apt-get install lets-encrypt
    2. $ lets-encrypt

    That’s all there is to it! is immediately live.
    The Let’s Encrypt management software will:

    • Automatically prove to the Let’s Encrypt CA that you control the website
    • Obtain a browser-trusted certificate and set it up on your web server
    • Keep track of when your certificate is going to expire, and automatically renew it
    • Help you revoke the certificate if that ever becomes necessary.
  • If the certificates are valid, they'll be accepted by panel. After launch you could create a plugin request. May I'll then create a small plugin, which generates automatically valid certificates for new domains (+ expired certs).

  • It has been in progress for quite some time, but we still need to see a finished product.

    I read about it last year where they promised first quarter of 2015, delays can happen sure, but going out with such an announcement of free certificates for everyone, you better hit your own deadline for release.
