I installed an ssl certificate for one of my domains, but whenever I type the https in the address bar, it redirects to the main admin login for the server. It appears as if the apache configuration files were not updated properly. I'm using i-mscp v 1.1.0. I do not want to upgrade or do a fresh install to the latest version. I want to use this version only. So please do not recommend I upgrade. Any advice on what to do would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If you want support, I recommend to upgrade^^ Lot's of bugs were fixed since this old version. What's the reason why you don't want to upgrade? May there we can help you out..
PS: Does a file exists in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled|available/domain.tld_ssl.conf?

1.1.x is normally not longer Supported and we give normally not longer Support.
As Ninos said: a lot of Bugs where fixed
