You have to be a bit more precise, what does not work exactly. Logfiles???
And make an update to the stable version.
RC13? We dont release an RC13
Use the latest Stable. We do not Support old RC Versions.

User sites of IMSCP will be saved and will not be lost after update to 1.1.5? Need backup them?
Normally they will be safe.
But you should always have backups of your server's datas, it can get a big hardware faillure, and then, no more sites, users, DB, etc...

Well, what data need to save? www-data enough? setting of imscp need to save? where is it?
You can save, from my point of view, the whole /etc folder, this is just config files, so not heavy (i-MSCP confs files are in /etc/imscp)
/var/www => IF you don't want to loose any client data
/var/mail => For the mails
Also the MySQL/MariaDB folder, just in case.
