Extern Mailserver

I have a problem:

I am first time using I-MSCP.

My project is the make a Webserver only, but the problem is, I add a new domain newdomain.tls without any emailoptions and accounts, because I want to use an other server as mailserver only.

At the mailserver I added the new domain also but only with emailaccounts.

The MX Records for the daomain is pointed to the mailserver the A Records the the webserver.

So if I want to send the loggins, username and passwort to the new user the webserver bounce the mail because he do not find the user in his mailaccounts, but I do not want to use the emailsettings on the webserver I only want to use the mail form websites like joomla or shopingsystems.

It is a Debain Sqeeze server with:
Apache
MySQL
ProFtp
Postfix
Dovecot
I-MSCP 1.0.3.0

I would recommend you to update to our last RC ( https://sourceforge.net/projec…les/i-MSCP%201.1.0-rc1.4/ ) . With this version, you will be able to set an external mail server.

That's not a beta it's a RC and the RC has lesser Bugs than 1.0.3.0

RC1.4 is also more stable. If you want use external Mailservers you need to upgrade

First you need to activate external Mailservers in Resseller -> edit Domain

Then switch to the Domain -> Mail Account; on the left side is "external Mailserver"

OK I found the way and it works now.

But I think it is the wrong way to put the settings in the User area.

I think it will be better to leave it in the adminarea max. in the reseller but the best way will be if the admin will make the changes only because if the server is only a webserver.

Also it will be good it these case the user will not have any emailoptions to configure.
