Separate domain for cp and mailserver

  • Hello,

is it possible to have something like:

cp.domain.com for the controlpanel and mail.domain.com as the domain for the mailserver.

I want to use this in combination with the let's encrypt module.

    Many thanks and best wishes

    Niels

Will be a Ubuntu 16.4 LTS Server with i-mscp 1.4.2 and latest Let#s encrypt.

  • cp.domain.com for the controlpanel and mail.domain.com as the domain for the mailserver.

    Of course it is possible.

About the control panel hostname (domain name) and the server hostname

    • You can reconfigure the control panel hostname by executing: perl /var/www/imscp/engine/setup/imscp-reconfigure -dar panel_hostname
    • You can reconfigure the server hostname by executing perl /var/www/imscp/engine/setup/imscp-reconfigure -dar system_hostname
    • You can reconfigure both at the same time by executing: perl /var/www/imscp/engine/setup/imscp-reconfigure -dar hostnames

About SSL for the control panel and the services (FTP, IMAP/POP and SMTP)

You can enable SSL for both, the control panel and the services by executing: perl /var/www/imscp/engine/setup/imscp-reconfigure -dar ssl. When asked, simply choose self-signed SSL certificate.

About Let's Encrypt for the control panel and services (FTP, IMAP/POP and SMTP)

    • Install the LetsEncrypt plugin
    • As administrator, enable Let's Encrypt for the control panel and the services
