Installation of 1.3.16 fails on current Debian

  • Hi,
I just wanted to install imscp on a new Server, running the most recent Debian packages and realized, there are some dependencie problems. To be concrete, the process fails while installing the Package libdigest-md5-perl, which is a virtual package of either libperl5.24 or perl5.20. The problem is, these packages don't show up in the Debian stable branch, but only within testing. However, I don't feel like switching my server to testing completely or just for some packages. Any solutions, or where the packages just not tested with Debian?
    Thanks in advance :)

  • Hello,

With Debian Jessie 8.7, the libdigest-md5-perl package is a virtual package:

    Shell-Script
    1. # LANG=c aptitude show libdigest-md5-perlNo current or candidate version found for libdigest-md5-perlPackage: libdigest-md5-perlState: not a real packageProvided by: perl

That package is provided by the perl package. There is no problem. Please:

Result of the following command on your system?

    Shell-Script
    1. # lsb_release -a

    Content of your /etc/apt/sources.list?
Content of any file found in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory?

    Thank you.
