How to save customs settings in the php.ini file

  • Hi,

I have just got the mail about the new update :-).

    I am curious about PHP7.0.3.
The last time I have reinstalled/updated the the PHP version, all my manually added modules and php.ini settings have been lost.

Is there a way to update from PHP7.0.2 to PHP7.0.3 without loosing my settings?

    Thanks,
    Sven

No because this involve recompilation. When we will provide PHP through .deb packages this will be more easy.

  • Hi Nuxwin,

thanks for you answer. It sounds like that the deb package is coming soon. Is this a new distribution way for I-MSCP? When will the functionality be available for public?

    Thanks,
    Sven

Debian packages will be provided for PHP version 4.4, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6 and 7.0 for the PhpSwitcher plugin (this for all Distro variants). I'm on the debianization process ATM ;) We do no plan to provide Debian package for i-MSCP Core ATM ;)

By providing PHP versions through Debian packages, this will allow us to not override modules.ini file and other PHP related conffiles without the administrator approval. Eg. when a new maintainer version will be available for a specific conffile, the administrator will be automatically asked if the file has been edited.
