Postgrey host

  • Why are you still using Postgrey? Are your customers happy with the delay of mails? That is sooo oldshool.

Postfix Postscreen could also do that job - 90% of the spam mails will be rejected.

Two years back I switched away from Postgrey and Policyd-weight to Postscreen and I did not notice any differance in spam mail arise.
Postscreen is integrated in Postfix an super fast. No additional service which has to be called and also no delay in mail receiving.

Just try it out and use the Postscreen plugin provided in the Plugin Store. :)

  • Thanks for the hint.
For new servers it makes sence. Yes. But we also have some special Servers with users that need the Port 25. So we can't change this.

The delay is not that bad. As it only delays the first time.

But to have the knowledge of more than one server we wanted to have a automatic whitelist database for all of them.

So my SysAdmin made this happen by changing some parameters. But it would have been easier if this would be an option within the Plugin.
