    Thanks! That was the problem on Ubuntu. Unfortunately, on the Debian server I can't do the update now. I'll try in the night time...

    Nuxwin, I notice that you can read logs with your telepathy. :D

    Thanks once again.

    I wonder it the "PHP Deprecated" was the problem. :)

    Hello,

    I did try to update to the latest git master version (09.01.2014) and the install script does not work. It just crash with the following message,

    Quote

    [ERROR]

    iMSCP::Debug::END: Exit code: 1

    The problem is on Debian and also Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The only difference is that on Ubuntu it crash sooner.

    I know is the experimental/unstable version but I think is good to know about this issue.
    The reason that I'm updating is that on the Ubuntu, from time to time Apache (with fpm) just fall asleep.

    Too much work. We are in freeze state and anyway, the "a" mechanism should be sufficient

    You know the engine better so take the easy path... :)

    I know the difference but in my opinion, usage of softfail is ridiculous because this mean that even if we add the SPF record, the mail can still be forged...

    I put the description in each case so that everyone else who read the topic can get informed without searching the web. Sometime an aggressive mail filtering is not the best option. There are a lot of bad configured servers outside and the users want their emails delivered and received.

    I'll apply the last update on one of our servers and see how the SPF is performing. Thanks for the fix!

    Hello ;

    I'm currently working on the SPF records for the external mail servers. Because we don't know what are the IP of the external mail servers added by the customer (the customer must enter their hostnames only), and also because the A records for those external mail servers are out of zone, we can only use the MX mechanism. Even if It should be possible to process some extra DNS lookups to retrieve those IP while adding those DNS records, this is a waste of time in my opinion and too error-prone (think about possible wrong entry or temporary network problem and so on..)

    You could add an extra entry field, when external mail is activated, so that the user can input by hand the IP address.

    Question: Should we use softfail ??? ---> ~all

    fail is "-all" which means if it doesn't come from any of the assigned IP's or MX its fake and do not trust it.
    softfail is "~all" which means that your domain can still be spoofed because most email servers allow mail to still go through with that error.

    For the moment I'll go with the ~all (softfail).

    I have a problem with the SPF record in 1.1.0 -rc4.7 Git Master version. To be more exactly, there is no SPF entry.
    I use External Mail Server Option and the OpenDkim plugin. If I check the bind file for that domain, I can see all the MX listed, also the Dkim Entry but no SPF.

    Anny suggestions?

    Thank you.

    what do you expect i-MSCP to do in a cloud? you actually know what purpose i-MSCP is for?

    an forum thread is one topic, issue, question, problem, to solve. if you go offtopic, so please open new thread in offtopic area ;)

    There are many things to say so it would be a good idea for a new topic, indeed. I'll make a list and open the discussion tomorrow.

    Thanks once again for the help! :)

    This is because this plugin has not been released yet so even if we update it, we do not update the version yet. ;)

    OK. I've got it now! :idea:
    Now a little bit of offtopic. Do you have in plan a cloud version of imscp, the one that could work behind NAT?
    You know the kind of cloud system that Amazon EC2, Rackspace's Openstack uses.
    I miss imscp in the cloud environments that I use...
