Can you provide log files please?
Did you disable the plugin before you tried to update it?
Did you read the install.md?
-
As I already said, request it in the github repo for that plugin.

Ah ja, just noticed that ... sorry.
You need to restart php, not the apache and so on.
The php files should be located in /etc/php/version-of-php/ . If you use fpm, its in the fpm folder.
-
The php.ini file gets rewritten during upgrades/etc..
Change settings in the panel.

IF you are on mariadb already, then you dont need to reconfigure i-MSCP. As far as I know.
-
Debian Buster is currently not supported in the "normal" 1.5.3..
-
Not really helpful, at least not fore me. Maybe check the letsencrypt community and ask there.
-
Did you try to check the db manuall?
There was a command to do that, but I dont remember that right now (search function will help there for sure).
Do you use the latest 1.5.3 version? Because the "normal" 1.5.3 isnt the latest one.
Plus it seems that the login datas are wrong.
And I guess that trying to fix the permissions (just to be sure) doesnt hurt:
perl /var/www/imscp/engine/setup/imscp-reconfigure --fix-permissions
-
That version isnt meant for stable enviroments right now and not fully supported as far as I remember.
Every part which is included in i-MSCP will be overwritten if you upgrade i-MSCP or if you do changes to it via command line.
There is a way to include additional files, I already did it like that and it requires like 1 minute with google/whatsoever.
