Install with nginx?

  • Hello

I have just decided to reinstall i-mscp on my test VPS account and I have noticed on the latest RC that there is a option for Nginx instead of apache. I would like to know please does this install nginx and not apache or is it a nginx proxy that works with apache?

If it is a proxy that works with apache then does it automatically make the host templates for the domains to work with nginx?

Thanks in advance for your help :shy:

  • Thanks for your reply Ninos.

I have tried to impliment nginx as proxy by using http://www.c0urier.net/2013/i-mscp-nginx-proxy but sadly it was not viable for me as I found out that I had to manually add the nginx templates per domain. I will be using my vps to add many many domains so to create the nginx templates manually will be out of the question.

Thats why I was asking when I select the nginx install will it be a full nginx or proxy and will the nginx templates be created automatically. Has that been added yet? If not any idea when this feature/option will be available as it will be most useful as all my pages are static php/html files.

    Thanks :shy:

  • I think the implementation of nginx into imscp is in early state. You can try to install nginx with latest master but I'm sure that you will have problems with it. Please install it on a test server or wait some days, because if something goes on road it will be implement quickly.

  • Thank you kindly Ninos and c0urier for your information. Most appreciated :shy:

  • Furthermore I will specify on c0urier.net that it does not work with current master.

What needs to be done in order to make with current master/upcoming version?

  • Hello

Sorry for digging up a old thread.

I have been doing some research on the interweb and have come across this. I thought it might help with configuring the nginx proxy to work with i-mscp as the problem at the moment seems to be that we cannot auto generate the virtual host files. This site has a fix for that here:-

    http://www.sebdangerfield.me.u…s-with-nginx-bash-script/

    or there is this:-

    http://www.sebdangerfield.me.u…under-separate-fpm-pools/

I just dont know how to impliment it when using the instructions from c0urier's instructions found here:-
    https://www.c0urier.net/2013/i-mscp-nginx-proxy

    Thanks all inadvance. :shy:
