  • Hello,

    i get a lot of Bind errors in my syslog (all the same sheme):

    Feb 14 22:00:15 server named[5867]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'ns1.netcologne.de/AAAA/IN': 2001:678:2::53#53

    Bug or Feature?

  • netcologne.de is part of your system? if not seems like somebody use your server to querry external dns. If yes somebody try to reach your server using ipv6. In both cases is not related to your server configuration. in first case you can disable recursion in named.conf.options

  • Netcologne.de is my Internet Provider. But Hosteurope is in Cologne, so maybe its the host configuration of the vserver system.

    It looks like your server is trying to query over IPv6 first, and hence your error. If you don't use IPv6 (it looks like you don't), then I would try removing the IPv6 address from the /etc/hosts localhost line.
