Cache-Control Headers for Varnish Page Cache

  • Hey folks,

for two days i've been trying to change the Cache Control Headers to get varnish to work.

What can i say: I failed miserably. ;(

I tried everything i could imagine to change the headers for varnish: mod_expires, change mod_headers...
tried varnish to get to ignore them (it isn't).
Made entries in the .htaccess file and the vhost files at /etc/apache2/ and several other changes. ?(

But still get this header from apache:

    Date: Tue, 13 Oct 2015 18:36:07 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.4.10 (Debian)
    Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT
    Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0
    Pragma: no-cache
    X-Pingback: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com,/xmlrpc.php
    Vary: Accept-Encoding
    Set-Cookie: PHPSESSID=1n05v34lntjchgntvn4kt3cpl2; path=/
    Location: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

Is there anybody out there who knows how to change these entries?

I'd appreciate it very much - i'm full of despair nobody can. :/

    Sincerly...

  • Please have a look at your CMS and/or try it via php..

  • Thank you very much! I came a lot further. I've considered the CMS as the reason for the problem first but not investigated it further.

But according to isvarnishworking.com it is still not working.
