Please install both the ca-certificates and ntpdate packages and make sure that your server time is correct:

    Shell-Script
    1. # apt-get install ca-certificates ntpdate
    2. # ntpdate-debian

    Once done, retry.

Seriously, you should learn a bit before doing anything on your server... You have copied your /var/lib/mysql directory from your old installation without further thinking and now, the MySQL server cannot stop/start because the debian-sys-maint SQL user password is wrong... So please, connect to your old instance and send me the /etc/mysql/debian.cnf file.

    Thanks.

  • that was a mistake..

Can we reset mysql instead? Because i wanted to perform the server-migration how it was explained in the "Serverumzug" thread anyways.

    Reset? Uninstalling MySQL server?
